Module 4: DIRECT AESTHETIC RESTORATIONS
POSTERIOR DIRECT AESTHETIC RESTORATION
The theoretical component of this course focuses on the principles required to achieve functional and esthetic excellence in posterior restorations. Participants will review dental anatomy, occlusion, and composite resin manipulation, with emphasis on cavity preparation, bonding, layering techniques, shade matching, isolation, and modern light-curing protocols to ensure long-term durability.
The hands-on component highlights contemporary materials and techniques for direct posterior restorations. Through practical training, participants will refine skills in cavity design, anatomical contouring, layering, and finishing and polishing, enabling them to deliver predictable, minimally invasive, and natural-looking posterior restorations.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
THEORETICAL PART
Identify the most appropriate restorative materials for Posterior restorations to achieve esthetics and function.
Learn effective way to remove Caries with maximum conservative approach.
Gain an understanding of how to preserve as much natural tooth structure as possible while removing esthetic defects.
Learn effective isolation and rubber dam application techniques especially in deep margins.
Learn how select and apply different posterior matricies in different situations especially sectional matrix systems to restore proximal contact.
Understand bonding techniques that ensure optimal adhesion between composite materials and tooth structure. (selective etch technique protocol).
Develop skills to recreate the natural anatomy, shape, and contour of posterior teeth using direct composite restorations.
Master techniques for finishing and polishing composite restorations to enhance esthetics and longevity.
Learn strategies for managing more complex posterior esthetic cases, including deep margin aquesition, back to back cases, and MOD cases.
HANDS-ON PART
To teach participants the techniques and skills required to effectively place and polish direct esthetic restorations on posterior teeth as Class I, Class II.
Learn how select and apply sectional matrix systems to restore proximal contact in class II prepared cavity.
To improve participants' ability to achieve natural-looking esthetic results as occlusal anatomy.
Develop skills in finishing and polishing restorations to achieve natural esthetic appearance.
Module 4: DIRECT AESTHETIC RESTORATIONS
ANTERIOR DIRECT AESTHETIC RESTORATION
This course covers the principles and techniques for direct anterior aesthetic restorations using tooth-colored composite resins. The theoretical component addresses tooth morphology, shade selection, material properties, adhesion, and layering techniques to replicate natural translucency and optical effects. It also highlights proper tooth preparation, polishing, and finishing methods to achieve long-lasting, highly esthetic results.
The hands-on sessions allow participants to apply these principles, restoring anterior teeth with natural-looking color, translucency, and texture while ensuring proper function and durability. Clinicians gain practical skills to deliver predictable, minimally invasive, and esthetically pleasing anterior restorations.
